Dynamite airs tonight (Oct. 22) with a live show from Boeing Center at TechPort in San Antonio, Texas. This is the first episode of Dynamite during the five week build to Full Gear, which takes place on November 22.

It’s obvious who will be the first ever AEW women’s world tag team champions

Last month, President Tony Khan unveiled the brand new AEW women’s world tag team championship. A tournament will be held to determine the inaugural champions, and the bracket is set to be officially revealed tonight on Dynamite.

The first AEW team that jumps out to me as the early favorite to win the new belts are Mina Shirakawa and former AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm. An argument can be made that Toni is the biggest star in the company, while Mina’s overwhelming charisma and popularity cannot be denied. Both women were down in the dumps at WrestleDream after recently losing all of their championship gold, so it’s time for them to climb back to the mountaintop with a tournament win. If Tony Khan wants to give the new titles instant credibility and send fans the message that these belts won’t be an afterthought, then strapping Toni and Mina seems like a no-brainer decision.

Some of the other teams in the field may include Harley Cameron & Willow Nightingale, Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford, Anna Jay & Tay Melo, Billie Starkz and ROH Women’s World Champion Athena, Deonna Purrazzo & Taya Valkyrie, and any two members of the Triangle of Madness (Julia Hart, Thekla, Skye Blue).

What about Jamie Hayter or Mercedes Mone? Will either of them find a partner and enter the tourney? Could Hikaru Shida or Britt Baker return to AEW as part of the tournament? Does Marina Shafir have championship aspirations or get along with anybody backstage besides the Death Riders? Is Thunder Rosa healthy and ready to compete? Will the bracket include a MYSTERY TEAM?

Tune into Dynamite to see the full bracket reveal for the AEW women’s world tag team championship tournament, and (hopefully) a schedule for when the matches will take place.

Fresh off their surprise heel turn at WrestleDream, The Opps will defend the AEW world trios championship tonight against The Hurt Syndicate. Will AEW World Champion Hangman Page begin to deliver on his threat to ruin Samoa Joe’s life by screwing him out of the gold? And what’s the deal with Ricochet and GOA? Are they ready to move on to a new feud after losing to Bob Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and MVP at WrestleDream, or will they keep the faction war going by interfering in this title match?

AEW Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada puts the gold on the line tonight against AEW World Tag Team Champion Bandido. Nobody is allowed at ringside during the bout, but will IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Konosuke Takeshita show up later on to give Okada a receipt after he blasted Konosuke with a Rainmaker and flipped him off at WrestleDream?

TBS Champion Mercedes Moné is now up to 12 belts in her collection, and she is ready for a huge celebration tonight on Dynamite. Will AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander show up to wreck UltiMoné’s party?

Other stuff to keep an eye on

– Last week, Darby Allin predicted the Death Riders will disband after Jon Moxley says “I Quit” at WrestleDream. The latter part of that scenario came to fruition after old man Sting saved Darby from being drowned. Will the dynamics within the Death Riders change now that Mox has been exposed as a quitter? Does Daniel Garcia realize that maybe he didn’t join a group of winners after all?

– The Young Bucks are still broke after Jurassic Express beat them in a match for $500,000 at WrestleDream. The babyfaces were attacked by the Don Callis Family afterwards, while the Bucks seemed conflicted about which side to help. Kenny Omega ran in to save Jungle Jack Perry and Luchasaurus after the Bucks walked away without getting involved. Will Omega and Jurassic Express need Matthew and Nicholas Jackson to eventually join up with them in order to overcome the numbers advantage of the Callis family?

– How much longer does FTR have to wait around until Adam Copeland returns to get revenge on them for taking out his wife Beth with a spike piledriver?

– La Faccion Ingobernable say they’re not done with Eddie Kingston and HOOK. I don’t think that’s going to work out well for Sammy Guevara and RUSH.

TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher needs a new challenger after defeating Mark Briscoe at WrestleDream. Which babyface will step up to the plate?

– Is Jay White ready to return to AEW following his cryptic post from last week?

– I should probably try to write something about Orange Cassidy, but that sounds like a lot of work.

– Where the f*** is Chris Jericho?

What will you be looking for on Dynamite?
