Green Bay Packers News: Packers busy in free agency with more to come
The Packers added a new cornerback and a new linebacker, brought back some important pieces of their 2025 roster, and said goodbye to some old friends over the past few days, dramatically reshaping their team as they turn their attention to the 2026 season. They’ve been busy!
And the crazy part is that free agency hasn’t technically even started yet.
The new league year doesn’t officially start until Wednesday afternoon, and every free agent deal will take effect at that time. We’re still in the funny money, legal tampering period, and it’s possible things can change. And there are other considerations still in the works — like the Packers’ surprising (but not that surprising) decision to release Nate Hobbs this morning, or their move to nab Benjamin St-Juste on a two-year deal.
Everything is in flux right now. Anything can happen. Anything can change. That’s what makes this part of the NFL calendar so exciting, and sometimes befuddling. But that’s why we watch!
So keep the popcorn at hand. There are plenty of twists and turns still to come.

Here’s a look at who’s winning and losing from a league perspective.
“Is he better than Quay Walker?” might not be the best framing here, since I don’t think the Packers are counting on him to be as good as Walker, but it’s an important part of the pros and cons.
“I can’t wait to spend all this money” would have been my first words, but Willis went in a different direction and I respect that.
The most interesting part of this story is that the wife in question doesn’t have to be your wife to qualify. Any wife, apparently, will do.
