Hansi Flick goes crazy for Joao Cancelo after Barcelona beat Rayo

Cancelo has been impressing recently for Barcelona, and Flick was thrilled with the Portugal star’s showing as the Catalans picked up another crucuial three points.

”I want to congratulate him because his game was incredible, especially in the second half. He gave everything for the team and wanted to continue until the end because he was very involved in the game,” he said.

Flick also praised Joan Garcia after another inspirational peerformance from the goalkeeper.

”Joan Garcia is very important for us. That’s why we signed him. He showed all his qualities and managed to keep a clean sheet. I am very happy for him with the call-up of the national team,” he added.

”If we had scored the chances we had it would have been easier. We have to think about all the games we have played and the effort that the players are making.

“I am aware that we are missing Koundé, Balde, Christensen, De Jong and that Eric was not there today either. We had a lot of casualties in defence and our two centre-backs and full-backs played very well.”

Barcelona will now get a break as La Liga pauses for a round of international fixtures. The Catalans return on April 4th against Atletico Madrid in La Liga.
