Holly Rowe issues statement regarding Lady Vols’ basketball program
Tennessee’s last remaining student-athlete eligible to return for the 2026-27 women’s basketball season announced her intention to transfer on Monday.
Tennessee freshman guard Jaida Civil announced Monday she is transferring from the Lady Vols.

“This has been the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make,” Civil announced on social media. “After deep thought and prayer, I have decided to enter the transfer portal.”
Civil joins Tennessee teammates Deniya Prawl, Alyssa Latham, Kaniya Boyd, Lauren Hurst, Mia Pauldo, Mya Pauldo and Talaysia Cooper who are also transferring.
Tennessee 2026 signee Oliviyah Edwards also requested to be released from her national letter of intent.
On Monday, the first day with the NCAA transfer portal being open after the national championship game, Holly Rowe of ESPN released a statement regarding Tennessee’s basketball program.

“What Danny White is allowing to happen to Lady Vols hoops is making me so sad,” Rowe said on social media. “Gut wrenching to watch him let one of the greatest programs in womens sports history disintegrate. I am devastated.”
