TikTok has long offered a way to revisit old videos you’ve seen, but until now Instagram offered no such feature. Fortunately, that missing feature is finally here: Reels now come with a dedicated watch history inside the Instagram app.
See all your recently viewed Reels right inside Instagram
Today in a new Instagram post, the service’s head Adam Mosseri shared that Reels have just gained a watch history for revisiting old videos.
You can view your recent history of previously seen Reels right inside the app, it just takes a little digging to get to.
Here’s how to access your watch history:
- Open your profile screen (right-most navigation tab)
- Tap the three lines (top-right corner)
- Hit ‘Your Activity’
- Scroll down to the bottom section and find ‘Watch history’

Instagram has built a fair amount of versatility into the watch history page.
You can sort from newest to oldest or vice versa, filter by all dates, the past week, month, or a custom date range, and you can also filter by author/account.
Additionally, if you want to remove any Reels from your watch history, you can easily select and remove them with ease.
