Jade Cargill Frustrated Over Limited Matches as WWE Women’s Champion
Jade Cargill may be holding the WWE Women’s Championship, but she’s making it clear she wants more than just the title — she wants more matches.
After winning the WWE Women’s Championship from Tiffany Stratton at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1, 2025, Cargill has only wrestled six televised matches, most of them short. Her latest came on the March 13, 2026 episode of SmackDown, where she defeated Michin.
Now, with WrestleMania 42 getting closer, she’s speaking up. Cargill opened up on Complex Graps and made it clear that being champion isn’t enough — she wants more opportunities to actually defend the title.
“I mean, I want to wrestle. When you become champion, you want to defend your title as much as possible.”
She pointed to the current state of the women’s division as part of the issue, saying a lot of talent is tied up elsewhere — but still made it clear that doesn’t change what she wants. Cargill didn’t just stop at general frustration either — she named exactly who she wants next, calling out some of the biggest names in the division.
“We have a stellar locker room, but they’re all tied in the tag division, making that strong. I get it, but I want to wrestle. I want to have matches with Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss. I feel like if I had a rematch with Tiffany Stratton, it’d be one of the things that solidified my win.”
And she hasn’t forgotten about Nia Jax either, bringing up their history and hinting at running that back as well. Even when it comes to alignments, Cargill made it clear she’s not worried about heel vs. heel or face vs. face — she just wants to compete. At the end of it all, her message stayed simple — she didn’t sign up just to hold the title.
“The person that injured me or had me out was Nia Jax, and I think that would be something we can run back. I’m kind of a tweener and don’t care about anyone… I wrestled Chelsea Green and she’s a heel. So I just wish to wrestle more. That’s all I want to do is wrestle… I love wrestling — and that’s what I’m here for.”
Cargill is set to defend the WWE Women’s Championship against Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 42, which is now less than a month away. For someone asking for more ring time, the timing couldn’t be more critical. She’s heading into WrestleMania as champion — but also as someone who feels she hasn’t wrestled enough.
Do you think WWE should’ve had Jade Cargill wrestling more before WrestleMania 42, or is this part of how they’re building her aura? Let us know your thoughts.
