John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette’ Releases Trailer
FX has released the trailer for Ryan Murphy’s upcoming series, “Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette.” The show is the first installment in Murphy’s “Love Story” anthology and is inspired by Elizabeth Beller’s book “Once Upon a Time: The Captivating Life of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy.”
Paul Kelly and Sarah Pidgeon star as Kennedy and Bessette, with the series following their high-profile romance, beginning with Kennedy’s upbringing in the public eye and reputation as “America’s most eligible bachelor,” as well as Bessette’s fashion career as a Calvin Klein executive. The trailer depicts their initial introduction and whirlwind courtship, with Bessette eventually overwhelmed by the media scrutiny and intense public attention. The couple married in 1996 and tragically died in a plane crash in 1999 that stunned the entire world. It was another Kennedy family disaster that gave rise to the so-called “Kennedy Curse.”
The cast also includes Grace Gummer as Caroline Kennedy, Naomi Watts as Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Alessandro Nivola as Calvin Klein, Leila George as Kelly Klein, Sydney Lemmon as Lauren Bessette and Constance Zimmer as Ann Marie Messina.
“Love Story” will premiere with three episodes on Feb. 12 at 9 p.m. ET. The remaining episodes will continue to air weekly until the season finale on Mar. 26. The show was created by Connor Hines. Its executive producers include Murphy, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Hines, Eric Kovtun, Nissa Diederich, Scott Robertson, Monica Levinson, Kim Rosenstock, D.V. DeVincentis and Tanase Popa, with Max Winkler executive producing and directing the pilot episode. 20th Television is the studio.
