Kelly Ripa Reacts To Howie Mandel’s Aging Moment On-Air

Kelly Ripa allegedly feels “disrespected” by Howie Mandel after an awkward on-air moment on Live With Kelly & Mark.

“He disrespected her in her house,” an insider told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack. “That’s her show, her audience, her tone — and he bulldozed right through it.”

Mandel joined Ripa and her husband, Mark Consuelos, during a Monday, March 23 episode of their show, where a tense moment arose after Consuelos complimented their guest, noting that Mandel recently turned 70.

“You just celebrated 70 years. You’re 70 years old,” Consuelos said, while Ripa said that “it doesn’t make any sense” to her because Mandel “looks great.”

“I look great? That doesn’t mean anything to me. No, no, no, no. I don’t like that, because that’s a caveat,” Mandel said, reprimanding the couple. Ripa attempted to explain her comment, saying, “We’re not saying you look great for 70. You look great,” but Mandel pushed back again, saying, “Yes, you are, without saying ’70.’”

“It’s like saying you’re smart for a stupid person,” Mandel said.

While a source told Entertainment Weekly that the moment was nothing more than “casual banter” between the trio, Shuter’s sources say otherwise and claim Ripa likely won’t have Mandel back on the show.

“Kelly runs a tight, polished ship,” another insider told Naughty But Nice. “She expects guests to play along, keep it light, and protect the vibe. That interview did the opposite.”

“She’ll never say ‘you’re banned,’” the source added. “But suddenly bookings get tricky, schedules don’t align, and invites… vanish.”

Mandel allegedly “won’t be asked back” after “making [Ripa] uncomfortable on her own set.”

“In daytime TV, chemistry is everything,” a source added. “Once that trust is broken, it’s almost impossible to rebuild.”
