Legacy Kollection patch notes for new update to lower input lag, improve online and more
Despite a strong critical reception, the Mortal Kobmat: Legacy Kollection had a pretty rough launch for many players, especially on PlayStation, that is now hopefully going to be a better experience.
Digital Eclipse has now released a new hotfix update for the Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection and shared the patch notes for what’s been improved.
Following the previous hotfix for the Steam version this past weekend, the new update should now be available for PlayStation 4 and 5 as well as PC players.
Digital Eclipse says the patch should be coming to Xbox sometime this week, but Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 players are probably going to have to wait until the larger online lobby update planned for later this month.
One of the big changes in this update is to lower the input lag in the PlayStation versions of the Kollection, which was tested to be an astounding 108 ms / 6.5 frames of latency while the PC version only had around 22 ms / 1.37 frames of lag.
How much of a difference this hotfix will make is going to need to be tested again.
On top of that, the developers are also making some improvements to the online experience by improving the audio buffer, which should reduce or hopefully get rid of the sound glitches, along with fixing the connection filter.
More improvements and adjustments have been made to individual titles across the MK Kollection too including adding combos to the move lists, restoring the missing audio in the 32X version of Mortal Kombat 2, and plenty of other changes.
While it seems the Legacy Kollection probably should have been delayed, at least Digital Eclipse is moving fairly quickly to fix the issues that were present on launch.
You can find the full patch notes for the Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection’s new update below as well as Digital Eclipse’s statement on the matter.
We hope you’ve been enjoying Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, which launched just a few days ago on October 30. Since launch, we have been hard at work listening and responding to all the fan feedback that’s been coming in.
As we shared prior to launch, in the coming weeks, you will see an update that delivers Online Arcade, an online play mode that allows you to create public and private lobbies and enjoy the many different games in Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection with your friends. This update will contain many more fixes and features, but for now, we wanted to push out a hotfix that addressed the concerns that we could tackle immediately. Some of these fixes went live on the Steam version of the game on November 1. Today’s fix adds the rest of the features listed below.
Please note that due to significant differences in terms of how updates are made available for the different game console families, these features will be added to different versions at different times. Today, the Steam, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 versions will see these updates. Xbox One and Xbox Series owners should see these updates in the coming days. Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 owners will likely not see these fixes until the larger update including Online Arcade is made available in the coming weeks. Thank you for your understanding as we continue to improve Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection.
