Headliner Oasis, a longtime Jersey Shore bar and nightclub will permanently close its doors later this month and be demolished for redevelopment project in Neptune Township.
Tom Sueta, general manager of the Headliner, announced the closure on social media on Saturday, immediately sparking hundreds of comments of nostalgia from longtime customers.
“It’s with great mixed emotions that we announce: Headliner Oasis will be closing its doors,” Sueta said in a Facebook post signed “Tom and Jo Jo.”
“Our final day of operation will be October 20th, as we make way for Neptune’s exciting new redevelopment project.”
The redevelopment project called Waterways at Neptune includes demolishing the Headliner to build a hotel, two residential buildings, restaurants and retail space, according to app.com.
The Headliner has witnessed “thousands of lasting relationships and marriages begin here” and supported “hundreds of incredible charities,” Sueta said.
“We’ve been truly blessed over the years,” Sueta said in the post. “We are deeply proud of the role we have played in the community, and beyond grateful for the memories we have shared with all of you.”
The establishment will remain open for several final events.
Sunday will feature football, with Monday hosted by Rob Bush. Thursday will include karaoke and poker.
The following Saturday will host a Sisters for a Cure benefit at 1 p.m., followed by a Notre Dame Fan Club game at 7 p.m.
The final Sunday on Oct. 19 will feature a Halloween edition of Unicorn Bingo.
“Thank you to all the great employees I have had and the friendships I have made. I have been truly blessed on this unforgettable journey!” Sueta said.
He encouraged patrons to stop by for “one last farewell cocktail” to celebrate their time together before the closure.
