‘Love Story’ Courts Record-Breaking Streaming Audience For FX
Audiences are enamored with mega-producer Ryan Murphy‘s latest retelling of an American cultural phenomena.
Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette, EP’d by Murphy and created by Connor Hines, has become FX‘s most-watched limited series ever on streaming, raking in more than 25M hours viewed across the first five episodes on Disney+ and Hulu, the network said Thursday.
Since premiering with the first three episodes on February 12, the audience has grown with each weekly release, per FX. The company adds that viewership for Episode 5 (the most recent) was up 51% compared to the premiere.
On social, the engagement has been promising as well, particularly as the series introduces younger generations to the couple’s tragedy. According to TikTok, searches for both JFK Jr and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy grew by over 9100% in the last month.

Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette is created by Connor Hines and executive produced by Ryan Murphy, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Connor Hines, Eric Kovtun, Nissa Diederich, Scott Robertson, Monica Levinson, Kim Rosenstock, D.V. DeVincentis and Tanase Popa. Max Winkler executive produced and directed the pilot episode. It is produced by 20th Television.
A new episode of Love Story debuts Thursday night on FX and streams on Hulu and Disney+.
