Man charged following weekend Amber Alert in Waterloo

WATERLOO, Iowa (KCRG) – A man has been arrested in connection to an Amber Alert that went out Sunday for a missing 12-year-old girl from Waterloo.

Daniyal Khan, 23, from Ann Arbor, Michigan, has been charged with second-degree kidnapping, indecent contact with a child, and sexual exploitation of a minor, the Waterloo Police Department shared Monday afternoon.

The girl was located about an hour after the Amber Alert went out after the suspect’s Toyota Camry was located by law enforcement in Coloma Township, Michigan, according to the Waterloo Police Department.

Khan is in custody at the Berrien County Jail.
