Maxx Crosby Opens Up About Trade from Vegas to Baltimore
Though Crosby has been one of the NFL’s best players, the Raiders made just one playoff appearance during his seven seasons. They were beaten in the Wild-Card round of the 2021 playoffs.
While the Raiders are rebuilding, the Ravens are building back up, determined to get back into the playoffs after missing them for the first time in 2021. The Ravens have been one of the best teams in the league since Lamar Jackson’s arrival in 2018 but have yet to reach the Super Bowl.
Reportedly trading two first-round picks for Crosby is an aggressive move to help get over the top, something that isn’t lost on the star defensive end.
“I’m going there with one purpose, and that’s to help this team get to where ultimately it needs to be and where everybody wants to go. And that’s winning a Super Bowl,” Crosby said.
“The whole city of Baltimore, the trust has got to be earned. I’m coming in guns blazing, I’m going to be myself, and I’m going to give everything I have in my heart and soul to be the best player I can possibly be, to help be the best leader, best example, on a daily basis. No words are needed; I’m going to show by action. I cannot wait to do that every single day in that building.”
Crosby, who has a large Raiders logo tattooed on his arm, said he’ll be a “Raider for life” and that he hopes to someday finish in a Raiders jersey.
“For the time being, it’s a new day,” Crosby said. “I’m going to Baltimore. Flock Nation. Everybody in the whole city of Baltimore, I’ve got a lot to learn. Everything is going to be new to me. I’m excited and attacking this head-on like I do everything else.”
Crosby is 28 years old, in the peak of his career, and would be under contract in Baltimore through 2029 once the reported trade can be processed on Wednesday, when the new league year begins. He could have a long stay in purple and black.
“Football is my world, man. It’s my passion,” Crosby said. “Since I was a child, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my life. That’s be the best football player in the world and help win a Super Bowl with whatever organization I’m with.
“It’s going to be an incredible journey, and we have work to do.”
