McKee says Rhode Island will lift travel ban at noon
(WJAR) — Gov. Dan McKee is set to provide Rhode Islanders with an update on Tuesday as the region digs itself out from record snowfall.
He said the state will lift the travel ban at noon.
As of Tuesday morning, Rhode Island was under a state of emergency.
Road conditions have been hazardous, and Rhode Island and Massachusetts have used travel bans to limit traffic and allow plow trucks a better chance to clear the roads.
The Rhode Island State Police Department reports about 269 disabled vehicles needed help during this week’s snowstorm.

McKee has also activated members of the Rhode Island National Guard to help in the cleanup efforts.
