Neighbor of house that was raided by Nancy Guthrie cops reveals who lives there – and says woman who owns it was BANNED from going inside: Live updates
The neighbor of a house raided by law enforcement searching for Nancy Guthrie said the woman who lives there was barred from going inside while a federal search warrant was carried out.
David Curl said the homeowner was forced to spend the night at his house after police told her she could not be inside while investigators were also inside.
Curl said the neighbor claimed ‘she had no idea what they were asking about.’
He also revealed that the woman’s adult son had been questioned and later released.
On Friday night, a house in Tucson was raided by a Pima County Sheriff’s SWAT team.
A Range Rover was pulled over during an FBI traffic stop around the same time.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that no arrests were made as part of the ‘federal court-ordered search warrant.’

Breaking:Neighbor of house raided by Nancy Guthrie cops reveals who lives there – and says woman who owns it was BANNED from going inside
A neighbor of the home raided overnight in connection with the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie shared new details about the operation, saying the homeowner was not allowed to remain inside during the search.
David Curl, who has lived in the neighborhood for 30 years, had just returned from vacation when a sheriff’s deputy arrived at his door with the woman who lives next door.
Law enforcement had arrived at her home to execute a federal search warrant while she was alone, Curl told The New York Times.
She was barred from staying inside during the search and instead spent the night at his house.
‘She had no idea what they were asking about,’ Curl said of his neighbor. ‘She had no information about the disappearance or any idea why they were focusing on their house.’
The woman later told Curl that her adult son had been questioned by investigators and released.
He was now with friends, although no additional details were provided about his whereabouts.
Curl described his neighbor’s state of mind as ‘distraught.’
After investigators left, he helped her lock up the house and saw a copy of the warrant referencing the Guthrie case.
The woman declined to comment, according to the Times.
Longtime friend shares hope that ‘devoted’ Nancy Guthrie will return home
A longtime friend of Nancy Guthrie lamented her disappearance and said she hoped the 84-year-old would return home safely.
Jacqueline Sharkey said Nancy was ‘someone who lives a life based on values.’
‘She was devoted to her faith, she was devoted to the truth, she was devoted to justice, she was devoted to kindness,’ Sharkey told CNN.
The distraught friend added that Nancy’s kidnapping left a ‘tremendous tear in the fabric of the community.’
Sharkey added: ‘Our hope is that when Nancy comes back, she can continue to show us how to live a life that’s meaningful.’
Nancy’s neighbor said she was her daughter Savannah’s journalism professor at the University of Arizona.
‘Scared’ locals show support outside Nancy Guthrie’s home
A Tucson local said that his community was frightened by Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance, as the search for the missing 84-year-old approaches its third week.
‘Everybody’s scared about this whole thing,’ Matt Biggs, the president of Casa Adobes Flower Shop, told CNN. ‘It’s still hard to believe what’s happened.’
He added: ‘We’re all hoping that Nancy comes home and that they find her soon.’
Flowers have been sourced from Biggs’ flower shop for a makeshift memorial outside of Nancy’s $1m home.
‘People want to send a message of hope to the Guthrie family, and this is one way that they can do it without physically being here or physically going over there,’ Biggs told the outlet.
Federal search warrant executed in connection to Nancy Guthrie disappearance
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that a ‘federal court-ordered search warrant was executed’ last night in connection to Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance.
Authorities said the warrant was ‘based on a lead we received,’ with no arrests made.
There was also a traffic stop conducted, police said.
‘A person was questioned but no arrests resulted from that incident,’ law enforcement added.
Today Show host blasted for social media post amid Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance
Morning hosts Sheinelle Jones and Jenna Bush Hager featured a segment on Thursday with actress Adrienne Bailon-Houghton, whose mother was also present on the set.
The next day, a clip was posted on the Today with Jenna & Sheinelle Instagram page showing Jones giving Bailon-Houghton’s mother a heartfelt hug during the segment.
The post read, ‘Nothing beats a mom hug,’ as the pair shared an embrace in Studio A1.
Kelly, 55, took to her website to slam the ‘tone-deaf’ post, noting that Savannah Guthrie continues to plead for her 84-year-old mother’s return on social media after she was abducted nearly two weeks ago from her Arizona home.
‘She is suffering quite clearly, and this is what her colleagues do?’ Kelly wrote.
Lab results linked to Nancy Guthrie disappearance still pending
The FBI was still awaiting the Pima County Sheriff’s Department’s lab results regarding evidence tied to Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance, according to Fox News Digital.
The evidence was sent to the same lab that has been utilized since the beginning of the investigation.
The decision was discussed with and agreed upon by local FBI leadership, officials said.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos previously said he was hopeful that authorities were ‘getting closer’ to solving Nancy’s disappearance.
‘Now we have to go through and try to eliminate people,’ Nanos said.
Nancy Guthrie’s neighbor wonders if FBI was involved ‘quickly enough’
A neighbor of Nancy Guthrie questioned whether the FBI took too long to get involved in the search for the missing 84-year-old.
‘They invited the FBI in, or the FBI came in pretty quickly but maybe it wasn’t quite quickly enough,’ Steve Lippman told CNN.
Lippman said he wished law enforcement was providing locals with more information, while noting Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos’ involvement.
He added: ‘I think the sheriff is a very experienced veteran of law enforcement, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s experienced with what this case is all about.’
Nancy’s neighbor explained that the area near Nancy’s Tucson home was ‘spread out, desert landscape.’
‘It’s very difficult probably to find any type of clues,’ Lippman said.
Investigators found DNA from Nancy Guthrie’s property not belonging to anyone ‘close’ to her
DNA was recovered from Nancy Guthrie’s property that did not belong to her or anyone known to be in close contact with her, authorities said yesterday evening.
Authorities are working to identify who it belongs to and have not disclosed where it was found.
Several gloves, ranging from roughly two to 10 miles away from Guthrie’s home, were discovered.
‘Reports that a glove was found inside the residence or on the property are inaccurate,’ the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said.
Officials said that the evidence requires forensic analysis and would be sent to the same out-of-state lab that has been utilized since the beginning of the investigation.
Multiple detentions linked to disappearance investigation deemed ‘strange’
The repeated detentions in connection to Nancy Guthrie’s disappearances were questioned by a legal expert.
This came after four people were detained last night as part of two law enforcement operations near the 84-year-old’s Tucson home.
‘We saw this flurry of activity last night and then several hours later we find out that they brought people in and let them go,’ criminal defense attorney Donna Rotunno told Fox News.
She added: ‘That’s strange actually.’
Rotunno offered a possible explanation for yesterday’s events, in which no arrests were made.
‘If someone is detained, they’re held for a period of time, they’re let go,’ she said.
‘You’re arrested, normally it’s longer. Arrest has to do with probable cause and a detainment has to do with reasonable suspicion.’
Search warrant resulted in late night chaos near Nancy Guthrie’s home
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said a search warrant was involved in the late night law enforcement operations that happened yesterday night near Nancy Guthrie’s Tucson home.
‘Nothing more than a lead tracked down that led to a search warrant,’ Nanos told 13 News.
No arrests were made, the sheriff’s department said Saturday morning.
Tonight will mark TWO WEEKS since Nancy Guthrie was last seen
Nancy Guthrie, the mother of NBC anchor Savannah, was last seen two weeks ago tonight in Tucson, Arizona.
The 84-year-old’s final sighting to date was on the evening of January 31, when she had dinner with her daughter Annie, son-in-law Tommaso Cioni and her grandchildren.
Cioni drove Nancy home and was the last person to see her, according to authorities. Her garage door opened at 9.48pm and closed two minutes later.
The home’s doorbell camera was disconnected at 1.47am on February 1, according to law enforcement. The app on Nancy’s pacemaker was disconnected from her phone around 2.28am.
Nancy was reported missing the following morning after she did not attend a church service with friends.
Investigators later found blood near the front porch of Nancy’s house, which DNA testing confirmed was hers.
