New Jersey House Primary Special Election 2026 Live Results

A crowded field of Democratic contenders — including former Rep. Tom Malinowski, Essex County commissioner Brendan Gill, progressive activist Analilia Mejia, former Lt. Gov. Tahesha Way and more — is competing for the party nomination to fill Gov. Mikie Sherrill’s old seat in the House. The 11th District is fairly Democratic-leaning, so whoever wins the nomination will be favored in the April 16 special general election against Republican Joe Hathaway, a local mayor who is unopposed for his party’s nomination.
