Ohio State Earns No. 8 Seed, Double-Bye in Big Ten Tournament
Ohio State’s Big Ten Tournament position is set.
With Ohio State beating Indiana and UCLA beating USC on Saturday night, the Buckeyes are locked in as the No. 8 seed heading into the conference tourney. They beat out Iowa by one game for the final double-bye spot.
Ohio State will play its first game of the Big Ten Tournament on Thursday, facing the winner of the ninth-seeded Hawkeyes and the winner of the No. 16 vs. No. 17 seed game between Oregon and Maryland. Iowa beat the Buckeyes 74-57 on Feb. 25. The Buckeyes won their regular-season matchups vs. the Ducks and Terrapins.
Should the Buckeyes win their first game, they will face the No. 1 seed and Big Ten regular-season champion, Michigan, in the quarterfinals. The Wolverines swept Ohio State in the teams’ two-game season series.
The Buckeyes will tip off in their first Big Ten Tournament game at noon Thursday. Big Ten Network will carry the broadcast.
