Pixel 10a leaks in unexpected blue color [Gallery]
Ahead of its launch, the Google Pixel 10a has just leaked in a collection of official-looking images that show off the phone in a blue, “Indigo”-like colorway. Except, we weren’t actually expecting this color option.
Evan Blass (@evleaks) posted eight new Pixel 10a images that show off Google’s next budget device in what is a pretty standard affair. A few shots showing off the hardware, water resistance, Pixel ecosystem, and the display, with a couple of images also highlighting software features such as Gemini Live and “Hold for Me” in the Phone app.
None of it is particularly groundbreaking, until you realize the color.
All of these images show a blue/purple-ish color that looks exactly like the “Indigo” color that debuted on the base Pixel 10 last year. This comes as a surprise because, previously, colors were expected to include “Obsidian” (black), “Fog” (off-white), “Lavender” (purple), and “Berry” (red/pink).
It’s not exactly a leap to assume that “Lavender” was the result of some crossed wires and that “Indigo” was always on the table, but it’s still something we didn’t know until today. It also brings into question some of those past leaks, especially as one of the first few described the purple Pixel 10a color as “a gentle purple,” which is very far from this deep blue/purple shade.
Whatever the case, another leak today offers what might be a first look at the “Berry” color, but it is explicitly mentioned to be from an “unknown” source, so take it with a huge grain of salt. There are no big telltale signs that this image is fake, but the Pixel 10a seems to always look at least a little fake, so…
