Pokémon Go Scorbunny Community Day
Scorbunny are taking centre stage during Pokémon Go’s March Community Day event on Saturday 14th March from 2pm to 5pm (local time).
During March’s Community Day event, you’ll have the chance to catch both a shiny Scorbunny and a Scorbunny with 100% perfect IV stats.
It’s always exciting to see a starter Pokémon have a Community Day event – it’s guaranteed to be at least 50% of everyone’s favourite Gen 8 starters. Everyone else liked Grookey. Nobody liked Sobble, that’s why it’s always crying. Importantly, this means new shiny Pokémon are being added today – Scorbunny, Raboot and Cinderace are all making their shiny debut!
Finally, Cinderace is getting an exclusive move and its signature move, Pyro Ball. And if Scorbunny isn’t to your liking (we see you Grookey stans), there’s a string of March Community Day bonuses, including the chance to quarter your hatch distance (bit early for Easter, Niantic).

How to get shiny Scorbunny
Shiny Scorbunny makes its debut as part of the March 2026 Community Day event!
As you can see below, Shiny Cinderace is kinda cool. Sadly, shiny Scorbunny is, at best, slightly sunburned and sun-bleached at the same time…
Shiny Raboot inverts two of its colours, which is pretty effective. But shiny Cinderace is actually excellent, not only taking on a metallic gray and orange, but putting on an ‘away’ strip, swapping its indigo for white.
Shiny Gigantamax Cinderace is worth noting too. While its shininess is barely noticeable – it has orange trousers and grey ears, that’s about it – it is technically being released today. Next time you see a Max Scorbunny, be aware that it will have the chance to be shiny!
Every Community Day sees the shiny odds for its chosen Pokémon increased. As such, you shouldn’t have much trouble tracking down a shiny Scorbunny! Simply keep clicking on Scorbunny until you see a shiny one – keep an eye out for the sparkle effect and the shiny icon next to its name, as it really can be difficult to spot in bright sunlight! If you want to increase your chances further, remember to use an Incense to boost the number of Scorbunny spawns you encounter.
Scorbunny 100% perfect stats in Pokémon Go
March’s Community Day is the perfect time to find a Scorbunny with perfect IV stats. These are 15/15/15 stats you’re looking for to create a maxed out, 100% IV Pokémon, for your 4* Pokédex, raids and Master League.
If you’re at least Level 30 (or above), you’ll ideally be looking for the following CPs for a perfect 15/15/15 Scorbunny:
- Level 30 (wild CP maximum) – 940 CP
- Level 35 (weather-boosted wild CP maximum) – 1019 CP
The wild CP value aligns with your Trainer Level until you reach Level 30 and, due to the majority of the player base now being above this level, we’ve kept to these values for the sake of simplicity. These values will, however, be different if you’re currently below Level 30.
Scorbunny’s Community Day moves
As you might expect, March’s Community Day event brings a new and exclusive move for Scorbunny’s final evolution, Cinderace.
If you evolve a Raboot into Cinderace during the event or up to four hours afterwards your resulting Cinderace will learn Blast Burn – a powerful Fire-type Charged attack.
But more interestingly from the start of the Community Day event, Cinderace can learn its signature move, Pyro Ball. This is a powerful Fire-type Charged attack, and one you’ll want to be aware of.
Ideally speaking, wait until the end of the event (or your play session) so you can evolve the Pokémon with the best IVs into the strongest Cinderace.
Best Cinderace moveset recommendation in Pokémon Go
Cinderace isn’t great in PVP. Until now, it has only had two Fast Moves and three Charged Moves. Both Blast Burn and Pyro Ball are adding more powerful Fire-type options, which is good to note. Will it affect PVP? Probably not, Cinderace’s defence stat is too low for it to be anything more than a glass cannon. Will it make Gigantamax Cinderace more interesting? Certainly.
So, you’re still looking at Fire Spin as a Fast Move, but with Pyro Ball as a Charged Move for Cinderace. We don’t recommend adding a second Charged attack unless you’re desperate to try it in PVP.
If you are interested in using Cinderace, here’s its full Pokémon Go moveset:
Fast Moves
- Fire Spin (Fire)
- Tackle (Normal)
Charged Moves
- Blast Burn (Legacy, Fire)
- Flame Charge (Fire)
- Flamethrower (Fire)
- Focus Blast (Fire)
- Pyro Ball (Legacy, Fire)
The Pokémon Pokopia Celebration event has brought new Ditto disguises and costume Pokémon. Don’t forget about the Pressure Rising Special Research quest.
There’s a lot to do in Pokémon Go outside of the current event! From the Go Battle League, Remote Trading, PokéStop Showcase, Routes and Max Battles. Don’t forget to catch rare Pokémon while you’re at it.
