Rhea Ripley and Jade Cargill got a little too spicy on social media (UPDATED)

We thought it was just run-of-the-mill trash talk between WrestleMania rivals. That’s what Rhea Ripley and WWE Women’s champion Jade Cargill are now that Ripley won the Elimination Chamber on Saturday (and as Royal Rumble winner Liv Morgan already set her sights on Stephanie Vaquer and the WWE Women’s World title).

Ripley reposted evidence of her star power, and co-opted Cargill’s catchphrase while doing so:

Prompting Cargill to imply Rhea was Chief Creative Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque’s latest “Plan B”:

Rhea took what could be interpreted as a shot at how infrequently the reigning Women’s champ wrestles:

Which could be where it really went off the rails, or where the latest worked-shoot angle/WWE UnReal plotline starts:

We then got back into a slightly more traditional exchange, where Ripley posted two clips of interviews where Cargill named her as a dream opponent and the champ replied with one of her praising Charlotte Flair more effusively:

Got all that? Good, because today (March 2), Chelsea Green and Piper Niven — who, like Jade, are both currently heels on SmackDown — jumped into the fray. Green reposted the fan graphic about Ripley’s WrestleMania streak with a compliment. Cargill wasn’t having it:

Chelsea replied, “Damn. Hit dogs really DO holler!! WOOF WOOF” with a red heart emoji, which the champ reposted with:

Niven took a more direct route to things, reposting Jade’s first reply to Chelsea:
