RUMOR: YouTube app heading to Switch 2 sometime this month
While the Switch 2 has launched with a bunch of games, the situation’s quite different when it comes to streaming apps. The Switch didn’t have a huge amount of streaming apps, but it certainly had a few to choose from. Unfortunately, most of those simply don’t work on Switch 2, but that’s about to change for one of the biggest content providers.
Back in June, the official Team YouTube page has said that they were “working with Nintendo to make YouTube available on the Switch 2 soon.” That was followed by Team YouTube sharing another statement in October saying they were hoping to offer the app on Switch 2 “soon.” Unfortunately we’re still waiting for that app to drop, but it seems the wait may finally be over before February closes out.
According to Koytek Wattenberg Media, the YouTube app is scheduled to release on Switch 2 sometime this February. This information was supposedly given by a mod for the official YouTube Discord, so take it for what you will. We’ll just have to keep fingers crossed that we actually see the rollout before March heads our way.
