The Galaxy S21 FE is finally getting the much-awaited One UI 8.0 update. This is the four major One UI update that Samsung has released for this Fan Edition phone since its launch. The new software brings several new and improved features and optimizations to the Galaxy S21 FE.

Galaxy S21 FE gets One UI 8 (Android 16) update

The Galaxy S21 FE has received the Android 16-based One UI 8.0 update in Thailand and Vietnam. This new software update, which comes with firmware version G990EXXUIHYJ2, has a download size exceeding 2GB, so it is better to download it on a Wi-Fi network. It includes the September 2025 security patch to make the phone more secure.

If you have a Galaxy S21 FE and live in any of the countries mentioned above, you should check for the new update on your phone by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install. After the update is downloaded, tap the Install now button to start the installation procedure.

The Galaxy S21 FE was launched in early 2022 with Android 12 (One UI 4.0) onboard. It received the Android 13 (One UI 5.0) update later that year and the Android 14 (One UI 6.0) update in late 2023. A few months ago, Samsung released the Android 15 update for the phone. Based on the company’s promise, Android 16 is the last major Android OS version the phone will run.

One UI 8.0 brings a new design to Samsung Internet, Quick Share, and Weather apps. It also brings more actions and conditions to the Modes And Routines app, more customizable Quick Panel, and more lock screen customization options. Check all the changes by clicking here.
