On X, Tarun Vats claims that Samsung has postponed the start of the One UI 8.5 beta program for the Galaxy S25 series. Citing unnamed sources, he suggests that the delay is linked to the Galaxy S26+. So what does the Galaxy S26+ have to do with the One UI 8.5 release? Here’s what you need to know.
Samsung was expected to debut One UI 8.5 alongside the Galaxy S26 series in January or February 2025. However, recent reports indicate that the lineup’s launch has been pushed back to March 2025, as Samsung has apparently restructured the models included in the series.
More specifically, the Galaxy S26 family is now set to include the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra, instead of the previously rumored Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. This change is reportedly what led to the delay.
If Samsung really has postponed the Galaxy S26 series, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the One UI 8.5 beta program delayed as well. However, until we can confirm this information with our own sources, we recommend taking the claim with a pinch of salt.
