Seahawks to re-sign WR Rashid Shaheed to three-year, $51M contract
Seattle wants more of Rashid Shaheed.
The Seahawks are bringing back the wide receiver and return specialist on a three-year, $51 million contract, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported Monday, per sources.
A midseason trade acquisition from the Saints in 2025, Shaheed served as a speedy deep threat during the Seahawks’ run toward a Super Bowl LX win.
Although he didn’t produce eye-popping numbers in his nine regular-season games with Seattle — 15 receptions for 188 yards — Shaheed’s downfield threat deserved respect, keeping opposing defensive backs on their heels and allowing Jaxon Smith-Njigba to eclipse the franchise’s single-season records.
The field-stretching wideout was key for an offense that utilized play-action plenty and his splash play ability came up big in Seattle’s playoff run as he hauled in a huge 51-yard pass early on in its NFC title win over the Rams.
Shaheed also made a big impact as the Seahawks’ primary kick returner, taking back kickoffs for touchdowns both in the regular season and in the wild-card round in what was his second Pro Bowl season as a returner in 2025.
On a day in which the Seahawks lost their Super Bowl MVP exit in free agency, Seattle is making sure another dynamic piece of their championship-winning offense remains.
Shaheed, who tallied 44 receptions for 499 yards and two TDs in his nine games with the Saints prior to being traded, figures to be more accustomed in 2026 with some experience and a full offseason with the Seahawks in 2026 and beyond.
