Over their 49-year franchise history, the Seattle Mariners have played a combined 7,762 regular-season and postseason games.
Never before have they been this close to the Fall Classic.
With a 3-2 lead in this best-of-seven American League Championship Series, the Mariners will take the field Sunday night in Toronto needing just one more win to earn their first-ever trip to the World Series.

The pitching matchup
Mariners right-hander Logan Gilbert will face Blue Jays rookie right-hander Trey Yesavage in a rematch from Game 2, which Seattle won 10-3 in Toronto.
Gilbert allowed three runs – two earned – and five hits over three innings of that Game 2 matchup last Monday. The 2024 All-Star was pitching on just two days rest after throwing two-plus scoreless frames out of the bullpen in the Mariners’ 15-inning marathon victory over the Detroit Tigers in Game 5 of the AL Division Series, which was the first relief appearance of his MLB career.
Yesavage was charged with five runs and four hits in four-plus innings in Game 2, including a three-run homer by Julio Rodríguez in the first inning. The 22-year-old made his MLB debut on Sept. 15 and has made just five combined regular-season and postseason starts.
Both pitchers will be throwing on an extra day of rest. And neither logged a heavy workload in Game 2, with Gilbert throwing just 58 pitches and Yesavage throwing 70.
Game 6 of the ALCS is set for 5:03 p.m. Sunday at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. Hear the Mariners Radio Network call on the Seattle Sports app and Seattle Sports 710 AM, beginning with pregame coverage at 3 p.m. The TV broadcast will air on FS1.
