Shinedown, More Drop Out Of Kid Rock’s ‘Rock the Country’ Tour
As Kid Rock prepares to lead Turning Point USA’s alt-Super Bowl halftime show, his ‘Rock the World’ tour has lost another performer.
On Friday, alt-rock band Shinedown dropped out of the lineup out of concern it would “create further division,” given the Rock’s MAGA ties and his current headlining spot on TPUSA’s ‘The All-American Halftime Show‘.
“SHINEDOWN is everyone’s band. We feel that we have been given a platform to bring all people together through the power of music and song,” the group wrote in a statement. “We have one BOSS, and it is everyone in the audience. Our band’s purpose is to unite, not divide. With that in mind, we have made the decision that we will not be playing the Rock The Country Festival.”
The band added, “We know this decision will create differences of opinion. But we do not want to participate in something we believe will create further division. And to our fans, thank you for supporting and believing in us. We love and appreciate you always. All love and respect, SHINEDOWN”
Meanwhile, Rolling Stone previously reported that Morgan Wade and Carter Faith also dropped out of the event.
The ‘Rock the Country’ tour kicks off May 1 in Bellville, Texas, also featuring Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton, Jelly Roll, Miranda Lambert, Nelly and more.
After Ludacris was originally included on the tour’s poster, his rep told the outlet that inclusion was “a mix-up. Lines got crossed, and he wasn’t supposed to be on there.”
