Sol and Ky’s new specials for Guilty Gear Strive 2.00 detailed, and you’re not going to like getting hit by it in the corner or jump
Update: Arc System Works has now revealed more details on Ky Kiske’s new special move for Guilty Gear Strive Version 2.00, which you can find added to our story.
Guilty Gear Strive is about to receive its Version 2.00 update, which is going to be presumably the biggest shakeup the game has seen in five years, and the patch is going to include a ton of stuff.
One of those things is brand new special attacks for a number of the cast, and now we can get a better idea of what those are going to look like.
Update April 3: Ky’s new special for the update is called Lightning Strike, which does just as the name suggests.
The king can cancel his projectiles like Stun Edge and call down a bolt of lightning where it was.
Ky can manually trigger the follow-up that can catch people vertically who are trying to jump though it’s not clear if it triggers automatically against grounded opponents.

Arc System Works has now revealed the details for Sol Badguy’s new attack that is looking pretty dangerous no matter where you’re hit by it.
The move is called Sidewinder Ignited, and it’s actually attached as a follow-up to Sol’s heavy Volcanic Viper.
ArcSys notes the move dishes out high damage, and when performed mid-screen, it sends the opponent straight to the corner.
If he uses it in the corner, however, Sidewinder Ignited causes a wall bounce to net the brutish hero a combo extension with the devs showcasing a string that deals over 50% without meter.

So far, we know that Happy Chaos, Leo Whitefang, Nagoriyuki, Ky Kiske, and Asuka R. Kreutz are getting new specials as well.
On top of that, ArcSys is also adding the new Counter Blitz mechanic and balance changes as well as finally bringing costumes and accessories to the game.
And then fans will be able to play Jam Kuradoberi, who recently got her gameplay trailer reveal too.
The Guilty Gear Strive Version 2.00 update is scheduled to release on April 9, 2026.
