The satire in South Parks latest season has been unflinchingly scathing even if the schedule has been a bit all over the shop so far.

Still, with the Trey Parker and Matt Stone created series back tonight for the sixth episode of its elongated 27th season things certainly seem on brand with “Twisted Christian.”

No word if Dee Snider is making a cameo, but following on the ongoing subplot (or super plot, depending on your POV and political persuasion) of Satan being pregnant by his lover and tormentor Donald Trump, the long story short for tonight’s episode either says it all or not very much: “Cartman is possessed and may be the key to stopping the Antichrist.”

OK. Gird your loins.

Comedy Central

A reference to the much elementary school chanted “6-7” from Skrilla’s hand-gesturing 2024 Doot Doot (67) tune only adds to the mystery – as this short promo teases.

Tonight’s episode is the first South Park since the latest federal government shutdown started, more troops on the streets of more Democratic run American cities, potential peace in the Middle East and, for all practical purposes, Jimmy Kimmel’s unbenching by ABC/Disney. All of which means there is material galore for the sitcom to mine deep.

Or someone’s had the baby ….

Turning its premiere-delayed 10 episode Season 27 into a mega season, South Park airs on Comedy Central at 10 pm ET Wednesdays, and the next day on Paramount+. Unless Parker and Stone hit the wall again this year and run out of time to get an episode on the air, South Park‘s remaining Season 27 shows will land on October 29th, November 12th, November 26th, and December 10th respectively.
