Steam Deck OLED sells out in the US at Valve’s official store, here are some regions where it’s still available

It has been over two years since Valve introduced the Steam Deck OLED, which, while not more powerful than the LCD model, offers a larger HDR display, higher refresh rate, and a more efficient processor. Demand for the popular OLED model seems to have finally caught up, as it’s now out of stock from the official Steam store in the United States.

There has been no word from Valve about discontinuing it, and we wouldn’t expect them to, as Steam Deck 2 is still likely years away. Pressure on hardware manufacturers due to ongoing RAM and SSD shortages may be one reason the OLED is no longer stocked, especially since Valve seems to be having trouble getting its new Steam Machine out the door.

It’s still in stock in regions outside of the US

All three Steam Deck models (the 256GB LCD, 512GB OLED, and 1TB OLED) are currently listed as out of stock in the US. Wario64 on X grabbed a screenshot. The official Steam store has always been the best place to buy one of these handhelds brand-new; we tend to see third-party retailers or marketplaces drive up the price. Of course, you can always find a used Steam Deck online if you like.

Outside the United States, we’ve noticed other regions can still pick up the OLED models – though it’s difficult to say for how much longer. Using a combination of a VPN and user reports on Reddit, we investigated how stock levels are holding up across a few regions. Right out of the gate, all three models are still available to purchase in the UK.

It should be noted that Valve discontinued the last remaining LCD model, the 256GB storage variant, at the tail end of 2025. This means once it sells out, it won’t be available in your region. The two OLED variants are still in production.
