Update: The server maintenance period for Street Fighter 6 is now underway to prepare the game for C. Viper’s big update, and you can see what all is being added below. Capcom has also now released the official patch notes for the C. Viper update.

C. Viper‘s arrival in Street Fighter 6 is now just hours away, and we now have a better idea of when players will be able to take her for a test drive.

Capcom has revealed server maintenance is coming tonight, October 14, to prepare Street Fighter 6 for the return of Crimson Viper via a new update.

According to the developers, the maintenance period is scheduled to begin tonight a bit earlier than usual at 7 p.m. PDT / 10 p.m. EDT except for the Nintendo Switch 2 version, which will enter maintenance at 8 p.m. PDT.

This downtime is stated to last around five hours, so it should be over by 12 a.m. PDT / 3 a.m. EDT for most players though the timing could change.

During this time, all online features will remain unavailable including online matchmaking, the Battle Hub, in-game store, Fighting Pass, and more.

The actual update for Street Fighter 6 should go live sometime shortly after the maintenance begins, and once complete, players who own the Year 3 Character Pass can try out C. Viper in offline modes like Training until the servers are back up.

There will presumably be patch notes for the new update, so stay tuned for when they drop as well.

It won’t just be Viper joining the fun either.

Capcom is also adding Mech Zangief-F as the wrestler’s Outfit 4 DLC in this update.

To celebrate the occasion, metal supergroup Cavalera Conspiracy is bringing a new track to Street Fighter 6 too for Zangief specifically.

Since this is October, it’s time to get spooky as well with a Banshee’s Last Cry collaboration event coming to the fighting game with special items and a different take on the World Tour experience.

Capcom revealed tonight that the second Challenger Screen Illustration Contest winners will be added to Street Fighter 6 too.
