Super Bowl LX will feature a performance the MAGA crowd might hate more than Bad Bunny
Bad Bunny has received plenty of hate from the MAGA crowd heading into his Super Bowl LX Halftime Show, but his is not the only performance being targeted.
Coco Jones is slated to sing “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”
The issue with Jones’ performance?
It is actually a long-running aggravation for the MAGA crowd, and it is all because “Lift Every Voice and Sing” is commonly referred to as the Black National Anthem. And the fact that it is being included once again was buzzing on social media.
“The NFL died on their knees, they doubled down with that disgusting black national anthem and doing it against with halftime show,” Cpostan92 wrote on Truth Social. “The NFL is nothing but a Woke Supremisist organization.”
“I’m skipping the whole thing: Black National Anthem, game, Crossdressing Groomer Show,” Scorpio6996 wrote on Truth Social. “Life is too short for this garbage.”
“Not just the Super Bowl. I am DONE with the NFL!” GA-Freeman wrote on X. “They crossed the line when they encouraged kneeling for the National Anthem, and then they added a New National Anthem. FYI: America only has ONE anthem. Half time entertainers openly oppose ICE and Law Enforcement.”
“America only has ONE National Anthem,” Htown jfp wrote on X. “And yes I will die on that hill.”
“There is only one national anthem,” Richard Belesky wrote on X.
Not everyone hates the song, though.
Pop Crave first shared the news that Jones would perform the song back on Nov. 30.
“Bad Bunny and Lift Every Voice and Sing aka The Black National Anthem is really going to send MAGA into a major meltdown,” Mary Burrell replied.
But most of the others who replied simply shared their appreciation for Jones and the assignment.
“This is the kind of Super Bowl performance that actually means something,” the NLV account on X wrote. “Coco Jones has the range, the power and the presence to carry a song with real history behind it. Can’t wait to hear this one.”
“That voice gonna give chills, no doubt,” the June.eth account on X replied.
“Coco Jones on the Black National Anthem?” Harphool Salwara wrote on X. “Super Bowl about to feel like church!”
