Super Bowl Opening Night live updates: Roger Goodell speaks with media
Super Bowl Opening Night will begin shortly, with Drake Maye, Sam Darnold and other Super Bowl participants meeting with thousands of reporters from across the globe in a zany spectacle that kicks off the week’s festivities on Monday night.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said it’s too soon to say whether New York Giants co-owner Steve Tisch might be subject to the league’s personal conduct policy after Tisch’s name showed up more than 400 times in files released by the Justice Department regarding Jeffrey Epstein.
“We are going to look at all the facts,” Goodell said while speaking with media.
Maye and the New England Patriots will take on Darnold and the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at Levi’s Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers.
First, the athletes will meet more than 6,000 credentialed reporters who will pepper them with questions ranging from the standard football topics to the silly and offbeat stuff.
What to know:
- Super Bowl 60 is a rematch from 11 years ago: It’ll be a throwback to one of the most memorable endings among the first 59 Super Bowls. The Patriots beat the Seahawks 28-24 when Malcolm Butler picked off Russell Wilson’s pass from the 1 in the final minute on Feb. 1, 2015. But at least for now, the Seahawks are a 4 1/2 point favorite to win this year, according to BetMGM Sportsbook.
- How to watch the Super Bowl Opening Night: It will begin at 8 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on NFL Network and streamed on Fubo.
- Who is performing during the Super Bowl halftime show? Bad Bunny will bring his Latin trap and reggaeton swagger to the NFL’s biggest stage, fresh off his historic Grammy win for “Debí Tirar Más Fotos,” the first Spanish-language album to win album of the year.
