Takaichi set to become PM as LDP, Japan Innovation agree on coalition

TOKYO — Sanae Takaichi, leader of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, is set to become Japan’s first female prime minister after the LDP and the Japan Innovation Party formally signed a coalition agreement on Monday, giving Takaichi enough support to be elected in parliament on Tuesday.
