Late last year, it was reported that the Avatar fighting game had been canceled, but like the Avatars, the project seems to be reborn again.

The recently revealed Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is now back again to showcase a good bit of more gameplay as well as announce a Closed Alpha Test for the title.

This new footage comes to us from Evo and Avatar’s new community ambassador, the legendary Justin Wong.

The action kicks off around the 55-second mark with the first extended look at gameplay featuring Aang taking on his successor, Korra.

We also get to see more of Aang versus Zuko as well as Korra versus Zuko to provide around a minute’s worth of content.

This gameplay showcases that Avatar Legends will likely have a heavy focus on mobility across both the ground and air with all three characters showing moves that display them shooting across the screen or staying in the air longer than a normal jump.

Korra is also shown to have some sort of dodge mechanic that she uses multiple times though it’s unclear if this is unique to her or a universal mechanic of the whole cast.

Special assist characters are supposed to be part of the combat as well, but we haven’t gotten to see what those look like yet.

The Closed Alpha Test is set to include Aang, Korra, Katara and Zuko, and while there’s no date set yet, they say it’s coming soon.

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is set to release in 2026 on PC via Steam.
