Food Network‘s weekend talk show “The Kitchen” will conclude this DEcember after 10 years and more than 40 seasons.
Co-hosted by Sunny Anderson, Katie Lee Biegel, Jeff Mauro, Geoffrey Zakarian and recurring guest star Alex Guarnaschelli, the Emmy-nominated series focused on discussing recipes, food trends and family meal tips debuted in January 2014 and will sign off with its final episode on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 11 a.m. ET.
According to a source close to production, the show’s cancellation comes as the network is evaluating resources and its priorities heading into the new year’s lineup of programming, and as Warner Bros. Discovery moves forward with its plans to split up the linear channels portion of the business from the streaming services and studio.
“For over a decade Sunny, Katie, Jeff, Geoffrey and more recently Alex have engaged audiences with their individual and distinct food sensibilities and sense of humor that together make ‘The Kitchen’ a delicious way to spend an hour,” Warner Bros. Discovery head of food content Betsy Ayala said. “Everyone knows all good parties end up in ‘The Kitchen,’ where the conversation, laughs and food flow; the best parties probably end a little bit earlier then some guests would like, but we’ve got twelve years of memories and wanted to celebrate this team’s hard work during one final holiday season.”
Memorable guests across “The Kitchen’s” 10-year run have included actors Daniel Radcliffe, Regina King, Tony Shalhoub, Susan Lucci, Debi Mazar, Haylie Duff, Melissa Gilbert, Angela Kinsey, Bridget Moynahan, Raven-Symone and Tiffani Thiessen; musicians Martina McBride, Rev Run, Vanilla Ice, Trisha Yearwood, Joey Fatone; media hosts Willie Geist, Sunny Hostin, Kathie Lee Gifford, Daphne Oz; fashion icon Isaac Mizrahi; and, of course, celebrity chefs like Martha Stewart, Lidia Bastianich, Emeril Lagasse, Wolfgang Puck, Rachael Ray, Bobby Flay, Ree Drummond and Carla Hall.
“The Kitchen” is produced by Garden Slate Productions for Food Network.
