Things have a way of working out ‘the way they’re supposed to’
The nixed Maxx Crosby trade sent shockwaves through the NFL. The proposed swap of two first-round picks for the pass rusher crumbled due to the Baltimore Ravens’ concerns over Crosby’s knee injury.
In the aftermath, the Las Vegas Raiders and Crosby are left to pick up the pieces. The stance from the team and player since the trade fell through has been that they’ll plow forward together in 2026.
In a recent interview with the team’s podcast network, general manager John Spytek reiterated that he still values Crosby and believes the failed trade might work out best for the Raiders.
“My relationship with Maxx since I’ve gotten here has been great,” Spytek said, via the team’s official website. “We had a lot of conversations throughout the season, at the end of the season obviously, through the offseason and obviously we were presented with a difficult decision to make. Things have a way of going a certain way and working out the way they’re supposed to. We welcomed him like he never left, because he really never did.”
