Third-generation owner of historic Schuler’s Restaurant in Marshall dead at 88
MARSHALL, Mich. — Hans Schuler, former owner of the historic Schuler’s Restaurant in Marshall, died Tuesday.
The announcement was made by Kempf Funeral Home on behalf of Schuler’s family. He was 88.
“Hans Schuler, third-generation owner of Schuler’s Restaurant in Marshall, MI died Tuesday,” his family wrote. “Working at the landmark restaurant since childhood, Hans guided the development and evolution of the restaurants and the famous Schuler’s Bar Cheese.”
A visitation service will take place at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026 beginning at 9:30 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. The funeral home is located at 723 US Hwy 27 North, Marshall, MI.
The interment will be a private service at Oakridge Cemetery.
