This Newspaper’s Cover Photo Just Brutally Called Out Donald Trump, And Wow, They Really Went There
Last week, the Tehran Times shared a cover photo that brutally called out Donald Trump and the Iran war.

The cover features photos of children killed in a missile strike that hit Shajareh Tayyebeh, an all-girls elementary school in Minab, Iran. At least 175 were killed, including students and staff.

Above the children’s photos is the headline: “Trump, Look Them in the Eyes.” Then, in smaller text, the paper reads, “With hundreds of Iranian children dead, the U.S. president still denies the bombing of Minab’s elementary school.”

The cover confronts not only the missile strike, but also confusion in the aftermath of the killing. Initially, Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters that the “United States would not deliberately target a school,” but could not provide further details, saying, “I just don’t have it.”
Likewise, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the US is “investigating” the incident.
Meanwhile, when Trump was pressed by reporters about whether the missile that hit the school — thought to be a Tomahawk — came from the US or Israel, he suggested it could have been fired by Iran itself.

“Whether it’s Iran, [which] also has some Tomahawks. They wish they had more. But whether it’s Iran or somebody else, the fact that a Tomahawk — a Tomahawk is very generic. It’s sold to other countries. But that’s being investigated right now,” he said.

It’s important to note that Tomahawks are American-made weapons and, as PBS reports, “Israel also isn’t known to have” them.

Online, the Tehran Times cover has gone viral. Posts featuring the image have thousands of likes and hundreds of comments.
