Earlier today, we reported on camera upgrades in the works for the iPhone 18 Pro. Now, the same leaker has detailed what to expect from the designs for two new iPhone models next year.
iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 17e design details: what to expect
Leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS), after first posting about the iPhone 18 Pro gaining a variable aperture lens, has now detailed what to expect from the designs of two new models: iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 17e.
In the replies to his original post, the Weibo leaker commented further on the 18 Pro and also mentioned what’s coming to iPhone 17e.
For the iPhone 18 Pro, he says that the new model will feature the same basic rear camera design as this year’s 17 Pro model.
That means the full-width camera ‘plateau’ will be identical to what this year’s Pro models introduced.
It’s unclear whether this has any bearing on the glass cutout below the plateau looking the same. Previously though, DCS has mentioned the cutout having a slightly altered transparent look on the 18 Pro. So apart from presumed new colors, there might still be a change to the bottom half of the device.

Regarding the iPhone 17e, which is expected early next year, DCS says the display will feature a Dynamic Island. The current iPhone 16e uses a standard notch design.
This is consistent with what DCS has previously shared about the 17e, but this time he adds a fresh detail: the display will only support 60Hz.
That’s not a big surprise, as Apple just now brought ProMotion support to the base model iPhone for the first time with iPhone 17. We’ll likely have to wait at least another year before seeing ProMotion make its way into the budget ‘e’ model.
Finally, when asked about the base model iPhone 18, DCS replied that he hasn’t yet seen specs for that design, only the iPhone 18 Pro.
