UFC flyweight Alibi Idirissuspended one year after failed drug test

Alibi Idiris won’t be competing again until 2027.

The sanction stems from an in-competition sample collected on Feb. 21, 2026, which tested positive for hydrochlorothiazide — a banned diuretic and masking agent listed on the UFC Prohibited List.

The sample was taken on the same night Idiris earned a unanimous decision win over Ode Osbourne at UFC Houston.

According to the UFC, Idiris fully cooperated with investigators and admitted to using the substance to assist with his weight cut. However, despite being honest, CSAD did not reduce the suspension.

“CSAD is not suspending or reducing any period of his ineligibility due to the seriousness of knowingly using a diuretic during fight week and the advantage that he received in making his contracted weight,” the promotion said in a statement.

Idiris’ suspension is retroactive to Feb. 21, 2026, and will run through Feb. 21, 2027.

In addition to the suspension, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) has overturned his victory over Osbourne. Because the substance is also banned under state regulations, the bout has officially been changed to a No Contest.

With the result overturned, Idiris’ record now stands at 10-1-1, and he falls to 0-1-1 inside the Octagon.
