“Update on Apple the Yorkie – Dog Cruelty Victim – doing fantastic.”
“Dear PoPville,
Apple the Yorkie whose story was shared last Monday is doing fantastic. In just one week, she has blossomed from matted, starving, and unsure into the most confident, bright, and loving dog you’ll ever meet. She wants to be held and snuggled 24/7 (and isn’t shy about vocalizing this desire), she LOVES playing with stuffies (pink sparkly Lamb Chop is her favorite), and she recently discovered that belly rubs are bliss.
She saw the vet last week and her initial lab results were very encouraging. We’ll take her back for another check in about a week to keep an eye on things, and we have her on a very careful refeeding diet to help her gain weight safely, She’s already gained over one pound!
We can’t thank the PoPville community enough for the outpouring of support and donations we received after her story was shared. We’ll continue posting updates on her progress and recovery on the Miri’s Haven Senior Dog Rescue social media pages, and are hopeful that the Humane Rescue Alliance’s investigation will bring her abuser to justice.
