‘We’re marching through the world;’ Graham continues push for more US intervention abroad
CHARLESTON , S.C. (WCIV) — Senator Lindsey Graham appeared on Fox News Sunday morning to praise President Donald Trump and his administration’s bombardment of Iran as he continues his push for further intervention closer to home.
In a series of X posts, the South Carolina senator shared clips from the appearance where he praised the US and Israeli military’s operations in Iran and again called for direct intervention in Cuba.
“You see this hat?” Graham said as he waved a navy baseball cap emblazoned with the words “FREE CUBA” for Fox host Maria Bartiromo to see. “Free Cuba. Stay tuned – the liberation of Cuba is upon us, it’s just a matter of time now,” he continued, before casting the blue hat aside for a black one bearing the text “MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN.”
“President Trump said the only way to make Iran great is for the people to take over,” he quipped.
On Monday evening, Graham appeared on Fox and set his sights on Cuba as the “next” target of the Trump administration while imploring the president to strike Lebanon, which Israel began doing that same day after Hezbollah targeted the country. Death toll estimates out of southern Beruit, a Hezbollah stronghold in the Lebanese capital according to Reuters, hover around 300, but that figure is expected to rise.

“We’re marching through the world, we’re cleaning out the bad guys, we’re gonna have relationships with new people that will make us prosperous and safe,” the senator from South Carolina continued. “I’ve never seen anything, anybody like it, this is Ronald Reagan plus,” he continued as Bartiromo attempted to unsuccessfully butt in. “Donald Trump is resetting the world in a way nobody could’ve dreamed of a year ago, he is the greatest commander in chief of all time, our military is the best of all time, Iran is going down, and Cuba is next,” he emphasized as the Fox anchor nodded along.

Meghan McCain, the daughter of Graham’s close friend, foreign policy like-mind, and self-described mentor the late Sen. John McCain, criticized the South Carolina senator’s remarks in a post of her own by quoting a post from liberal news clip aggregator Aaron Rupar. In the clip, Graham tells Bartiromo that the US and Israeli public “just wait to see what comes in the next two weeks.” When the Fox anchor asked for him to clarify, he didn’t mince his words.
“We’re gonna blow the hell out of these people,” he said. “This regime is in a death throw now, it is gonna be on its knees, it’s going to fall, and when it falls we’re gonna have peace like no other time, we’re gonna have prosperity unlike anyone could ever imagine.”
“I’ve known Lindsey Graham since I was a child,” McCain wrote. “I am imploring anyone who will listen in the Trump administration to stop sending this man out as a surrogate.”
McCain said that Graham is “scaring people” and “doing damage” to the administration’s messaging about military action in Iran.
While McCain’s influence on the Trump administration appears minimal, Graham and the president still share a close relationship, especially when it comes to foreign policy, based on recent reports. The two regularly golf together, and the president endorsed Graham in his bid for reelection just under one year ago, hailing the senator as “a wonderful friend” who is “relentlessly focused” on border security, supporting the military and veterans, promoting American energy, defending the Second Amendment, and ensuring “PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH.”
