Seth Rollins may be injured, but the real damage might be happening behind the scenes — where trust in WWE’s creative communication is reportedly falling apart.
Rollins appeared on RAW with his arm in a sling following his Crown Jewel match against Cody Rhodes. While WWE hasn’t confirmed the injury, the sudden storyline twist involving Paul Heyman, Bronson Reed, and Bron Breakker attacking Rollins has raised serious questions internally. Was this a response to a real injury, or just another swerve?
According to Dave Meltzer, sources inside WWE aren’t sure what to believe — and that’s a growing problem. Some in creative were told the injury occurred at Crown Jewel. But after previously being “worked” on similar injury storylines, several team members are now skeptical of anything they’re being told.
“They were told it was from an injury in the match with Cody Rhodes. But after being told his other injury was legit, many are not fully believing anything right now,” Meltzer reported.
That mistrust reportedly stems from past situations, such as Rollins’ Saturday Night’s Main Event injury earlier this year. It was framed as legitimate but turned out to be part of the storyline, leaving many staffers frustrated.
“In the attempt to work everyone… the lack of trust right now is pretty high.”
One source noted that The Vision — the faction Rollins led with Heyman, Reed, and Breakker — was actually set to remain intact through WrestleMania, with plans to even add Austin Theory.
“One source with knowledge of creative said The Vision were booked for plans together through WrestleMania including with Austin Theory joining the group before things changed today.”
Now, that long-term storyline may be scrapped, or at the very least altered significantly. As WWE blurs the lines between reality and fiction even for its own employees, the fallout could go far beyond one injury angle.
