A24 has staked out April 3, 2026 for its Zendaya and Robert Pattinson romantic comedy The Drama, written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli (Dream Scenario).
The plot is being kept secret, but word is the movie is about a romance that takes an unexpected turn before their big day. Alana Haim, Mamoudou Athie and Hailey Gates also star.
Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen will produce the film through their Square Peg banner, with Borgli and Tyler Campellone producing under Dilemma Films, in collaboration with A24.
The Drama will serve as counterprogramming over the Easter holiday weekend against Illumination/Nintendo’s The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
A24 of late has veered into the rom-com and romance drama sphere with titles such as Celine Song’s Materialists starring Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal (which grossed close to $105 million worldwide), and John Crowley’s We Live in Time starring Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh ($57M-plus at the global box office).
