Earlier in the month, she posted two images on her Substack account featuring a scanned handwritten sheet of music featuring a title in capital letters: ‘BERGHAIN,’ marking her first release since 2022′s Motomami.
The title is a reference to the famous Berlin techno club that opened in 2004, located in a former power plant between the Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain. (The name is a combination from the two words.) It’s become a key part of the club/electronic scene over the years.
LUX will be released on November 7.
The song features lyrics in German sung by a choir: “Seine Angst ist meine Angst, Seine Wut ist meine Wut, Seine Liebe ist meine Liebe, Sein Blut ist mein Blut,” which translates to “His fear is my fear, his rage is my rage, his love is my love, his blood is my blood.”
Björk also sings in English: “This is divine intervention / The only way to save us is through divine intervention / The only way I will be saved is through divine intervention.”
Yves declares: “I’ll f–k you till you love me.”
