Good News? Raiders Host Offers Latest Buzz on Maxx Crosby
The Raiders have been taking calls on Maxx Crosby for weeks (months, actually, if you count the 2025 trade deadline), and every indication from the organization is that Crosby will be back in Las Vegas next year unless the team is blown away by a trade offer.
Regardless of what the Raiders say, though, there is still a known disconnect between Crosby and the organization and it remains to be seen how that dynamic is going to play out.
It has been rumored that Crosby’s representatives are planning to meet with the Raiders this week in Indianapolis and the storyline could pivot quickly depending on how those meetings play out.
Raider Nation Radio host Q Myers has been discussing Crosby’s situation all week and he continues to believe Crosby will ultimately be back with the Raiders in 2026.
“I was talking to an NFL insider on Wednesday about the Maxx Crosby situation. I said, ‘What are you thinking? What are you hearing?’ And he told me straight up that the sense that he got from talking to people inside the Raiders building… he said that the sense he got is that this whole Maxx Crosby thing was just going to blow over,” Myers said on the Locked on Raiders podcast.
“That could be for multiple reasons. One, it’s going to blow over because they really want him to be a Raider, which is what I believe, that they truly do want him to be a Raider. And I think in his heart of hearts, he wants to be a Raider as well. Two, they’re not getting the kind of response that they were hoping to get as far as, you know, a lot of draft capital in return or a big return on investment when it comes to Maxx Crosby.”
“So the sense that this guy got was that the Raiders as an organization feels like this is all going to blow over and Maxx Crosby will be a Raider in 2026, which is basically on par with what I’ve been saying the whole time,” Myers continued. “When I keep saying anyone who asked me, and trust and believe plenty of people asking me. There is a lot of different people that have interviewed me on Radio Row talking about Maxx Crosby and talking about the Silver & Black. So again, it just kind of really feels like when it’s all said and done, Maxx will be in Silver & Black in 2026.”
Myers didn’t share which insider he quoted on Crosby, but it would be fair to say the opinions on Crosby’s future in Las Vegas are still split.
The assumption for a while has been that Crosby will need to recover from meniscus surgery before a trade can realistically happen, but NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero said on Thursday he believes a trade could happen in the next two weeks.
“I would say it is fair to assume that the Raiders are getting many calls about Maxx Crosby,” Pelissero said on the Rich Eisen Show.
“You heard what John Spytek said in this room. He expects Maxx to be back, great relationship, texting and talking. We have not heard from Maxx Crosby since that session. Maxx has many ways on social media and podcasts to potentially respond.”
“I would say the Raiders don’t need to make calls. They will get calls on Maxx Crosby. Is there a world where Maxx Crosby gets traded in the next 7 to 10 days? I believe there is,” Pelissero continued.
“We’re not there yet in terms of a deal actually getting done, but almost every player in the NFL has a price… To me, [the Crosby situation] tracks toward push this as far as you can, maximize your leverage by saying we’re going to keep the guy here, see what type of calls you get. I’m not aware of the Raiders calling anyone. I do believe that they are getting calls, and I do believe there’s a possibility of Maxx Crosby being traded sometime between now and the start of the league year.”
