New COVID variant ‘Cicada’ spreading among kids

A new COVID variant appears to be spreading primarily among children.

The new variant, named “Cicada,” has been found in the wastewater of 25 children and has been primarily infecting children.

So far, scientists aren’t particularly worried about it because it does not seem to be any more severe than other variants.

COVID’s pattern until now has been primarily infecting adults and other adults.
