SOUTH BURLINGTON – Protesters surrounded a house on Dorset Street in South Burlington on Wednesday, trying to block agents from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement from apprehending a person inside. About 150 demonstrators gathered at the scene near University Mall, forming a human chain surrounding the single-family home.
The demonstrators put up a makeshift tent in front of the house where they were providing masks and food. Some were also singing and chanting, “ICE out,” and modified versions of “We Shall Overcome” with the words “We’ll abolish ICE.”
