Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8’s wider version reportedly has a bigger battery
Samsung is expected to launch three foldable phones in mid-2026: the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and a wider version of the Galaxy Z Fold 8. A couple of days ago, the battery capacity of the Galaxy Z Flip 8 was revealed. Now, the battery capacity of the wider version of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 has also leaked.
Tipster Digital Chat Station claims that the wider version of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will be powered by a 4,800mAh battery. The device is reportedly equipped with two battery cells rated at 2,267mAh and 2,293mAh, giving it a combined rated capacity of 4,660mAh.
If this information is accurate, the battery capacity would be larger than that of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which has a 4,400mAh battery, but smaller than the battery inside the Galaxy Z TriFold.

The tipster also claims that the device will feature a 7.6-inch foldable display. While that is slightly smaller than the foldable screen on the Galaxy Z Fold 7, its wider aspect ratio could make it more suitable for watching videos and using tablet-optimized apps. The phone is rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset.
It could feature a 200MP primary camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 8.
The year 2026 could be a pivotal one for foldable phones, as Apple is reportedly entering the foldable smartphone market with an iPhone that has a foldable screen with almost no visible crease. Samsung is also rumored to use a similar crease-free display in the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and its wider version.
